Waterside pubs and lunch stops near Falmouth, Cornwall.

If you’ve just your completed your boat purchase you may be wondering where to go first! – There are many wonderful places to visit by boat close to Falmouth here are just a few of my favorites……..

Pandora Inn

The famous Pandora Inn located at the entrance to Restronguet creek just a short sail north of Falmouth, offers locally sourced, high quality pub food & drinks. The interior of dates back to the 13th century with low beamed ceilings and roaring log fires. Outside they have a long pontoon that stretches into the river providing seating and moorings for visiting boats. A gorgeous setting right on the water.

You can anchor nearby and dinghy in or smaller yachts and vessels can tie up along side the pontoon, the end of the pontoon can be reached at most states of tides but does dry out completely at low water so plan your visit accordingly.

Café Mylor and Castaways, Mylor Harbour.

Mylor has a few options but my favourite for a lunch (or Breakfast) stop is the Mylor Café located over the marina they do lovely lunches and have an excellent range of options. Their fish finger sandwich was particularly good and certainly one I would recommend!  They also serve excellent coffee and have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the water.

Also located at Mylor harbour is Castaways Restaurant which is open into the evening and offers a locally sourced seasonal menu with quality seafood, draught beers and great wine.

Mylor Harbour has visitors’ moorings serviced by a water taxi and also a visitor’s pontoon for overnight and short stays.

The Ferry Boat Inn – Helford River

Located on the North Bank of the Helford river, the ferry boat Inn is easily accessed from the visitors moorings in ‘The Pool’, you can dinghy ashore and land on the beach or the water taxi will drop you at the small pontoon.

This is a wonderfully scenic spot, great for family’s as kids (and adults alike) can play on the beach right in front of the pub.

They serve lots of seafood and high quality locally produced cuisine and of course a great range of drinks.

The Working Boat – Falmouth

Just outside the main Falmouth town under the Greenbank Hotel, the Working Boat has its own Pontoons with lots of space for dinghy’s and vessels up to 20ft to moor up. It has a traditional pub feel and always offers a friendly welcome, excellent service and a bustling atmosphere. You get great views over Falmouth Harbour and across to Flushing from inside as well as outside – always popular with local racing crews and visiting yachts – The Working Boat is not to be missed.
